Over the following two days, teams competed in a format consisting of group round-robin matches followed by cross elimination rounds to decide the team champions of the two events. Both events adopted the team competition system. The table tennis team contest included five matches: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles and men’s singles. Each match was decided by the best-of-three-games rule, with 11 points per game. The badminton team contest featured five categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Each match was a single game to decide the winner, with 21 points per game. This format set high requirements for the overall strength of each team and added great uncertainty to the competition.
